4. The Vervoids

Killer plants from the planet Mogar! While the Vervoids have a distinctively vintage look about them, they could potentially be updated with a great degree of success. The most recent plant-centric Doctor Who story, last year's In the Forest of the Night, was hugely unpopular and was widely considered to be the worst episode of Series 8. That said, this could potentially have been remedied by adding a connection to the classic Sixth Doctor serial Terror of the Vervoids. Indeed, the plant-like aliens could prove to be a fierce and fearsome obstacle for the Twelfth Doctor if they were given a more 'natural' look. An updated appearance coupled with a story which highlighted some of the more dangerous aspects of plant life (both terrestrial or extra...) could certainly create a memorable episode.
