Doctor Who: 8 Reasons To Hate Moffat More Than You Already Do

3. Overkill

Time itself is in danger of collapsing, River Song is doing something flirtatious and dangerous and the Doctor is saying something silly but probably meaningful. For a lot of viewers, the fact that those things are in almost every episode might be the very reason they keep on watching. After all, Moffat has definitely stuck to his guns. For a lot of fans, though, too much of the same thing doesn€™t make for a riveting watch. Moffat frequently used the mystical unknown baby trope to bring life to the flagging latter half of the Amy Pond era, as well as dredging up River Song€™s storyline whenever it seemed like there had been too many dinosaurs and not enough plot. It also seems as though the €˜love conquers all€™ cliché has run its course as it seems to be at the heart of every one of the Doctor€™s triumphant monologues. Oh, and it might be nice for a female character to be something better than just sexy and feisty, too. Not everyone has the ability to look as great at Madame Vastra while shooting lasers at a dribbling monster, you know.
