Doctor Who: 8 Theories About Ryan And Graham's Departure In Revolution Of The Daleks

2. ...Or A Dalek-Possessed Character Kills Them

When Chibnall tackled the Daleks in the 2019 New Year's Day special, he gave them a brand-new, quite horrifying power: the ability to possess humans.

This basically involves a Dalek mutant (the squidgy alien inside the metal shell) attaching itself to a human and piloting them like a puppet, allowing the Dalek to make that human do things they might not want to do.

You can be damn sure that this power will be returning in Revolution Of The Daleks, and interestingly, the trailer even gives us a hint at how it might be used.

At one point, we see a shot of a Dalek mutant leaping through the air and attaching itself to Yaz's back, where it presumably possesses her. This means we have a Dalek-possessed Yaz and the departure of Ryan and Graham in the same episode, so putting these things together, what if she ends up killing them while under the Dalek's control?

Having a companion kill two other companions would be a dark story development for a New Year's Day special, but then again, it would also be a hugely impactful way to send off Ryan and Graham. And plus, wouldn't this make for a more interesting Series 13? Having the Doctor travel with a companion who just killed two of her friends?

If not Yaz, then perhaps another character - like the returning Jack Robertson - will kill Ryan and Graham while under a Dalek's influence. After all, he seems to be staring at the innards of a Dalek shell in this shot...
