Doctor Who: 8 Things We Know About The Next Three Episodes

2. Mummy On The Orient Express Will Be Even Worse

Along with the title, the casting of Frank Skinner and singer-songwriter Foxes would logically seem to set the impression that Episode 8 is a light-hearted romp along the lines of Robot Of Sherwood. Well logic merely enables one to be wrong with authority. Because, by all accounts, Episode 8 is set to be one of the darkest episodes in quite a while. For starters, it has been described as €œactually very dark with a lot of deaths€ and €œa claustrophobic horror€. It will also see the Doctor make some kind of decision or take some kind of action so ruthless that it brings Clara to her breaking point and causes her to leave him. But it seems that the really dark aspect of Mummy On The Orient Express will be the Mummy itself. So far we have seen nothing of this creature and there happens to be a reason for that. As the episode€™s writer Jamie Mathieson tweeted, it€™s too scary to include in any promotional material. The episode is also getting a later timeslot than usual because of how scary the Mummy is. Which begs the question; since The Caretaker is being broadcast at 20:30, could Mummy On The Orient Exress be Doctor Who€™s first ever post-watershed episode?
