Doctor Who: 8 Ways The Tenth Doctor And Donna Could Return
5. All A Dream?
Face it, for fans, this is a dream come true. But what about in the Whoniverse itself?
Of course every rumour should be taken with a pinch of salt, but one doing the rounds at one point theorised the majority of the celebration taking place inside the Doctor's mind. That's not a bad idea to be fair.
Think about a story set basically in the Doctor's 'mind palace'. We've seen this touched on before, most notably in Heaven Sent with the Doctor trying to figure his way out of the confession dial. Another example is the Doctor's fifth regeneration, where at the moment of his death he is mentally visited by his past companions and menaced by the Master. Should the 60th dive into the Doctor's mind more than ever before?
If there is one time to embrace nostalgia, it's an anniversary, so why not literally have the Doctor venture through their mind/timeline, and bumping into the Doctor and Donna is part of that.
'It's all a dream' is a cliche plot device, but in the hands of RTD, even this stereotype could work. And there another dream like way which could also work...
