Peter Capaldi has called for a new TARDIS interior in Series 9, and the fans are crossing their fingers for one, too! There's no place like home, after all, and the Twelfth Doctor actor revealed in a recent interview that he wants the iconic blue box to become more "retro" to compliment the overall vibe of his tenure. "Its essentially Matts TARDIS," he elaborated, and it's about time it got a revamp. The TARDIS interior has had its fair share of regenerations in its time (at least twelve of them to date), and over the years its transformations have come about as a result of the Doctor's personal choice or after catastrophic damage to the console room. Over the years it has gone from being "simply white" into a majestic Victorian parlour, and from the organic coral composition into the neon design we have today, to name but a few. Now that he's been at the helm of time and space for a whole series, you can't blame Peter for wanting to make the TARDIS feel more like his own. He'd better be careful with his choices though, as past Doctors have been known to be somewhat unimpressed when they've laid their eyes on future console rooms...
