Doctor Who: All Chris Chibnall Episodes Ranked From Worst To Best

5. Dinosaurs On A Spaceship

Chris Chibnall Doctor Who

While the overall public reception was mixed on this episode, there is actually a lot of fun to be had here. In fact, out of all the Chibnall penned episodes, this is arguably the most consistent from start to finish, with a strong climax that is brilliantly executed by an on-form Matt Smith.

The story begins with the rather bizarre concept of The Doctor, Amy, Rory, Rory's Dad, a big game hunter, and an Egyptian Queen finding themselves, as the title suggests, on a spaceship full of dinosaurs. There is actually a strong explanation for why this has occurred, while the reveal of Solomon as a greedy villain works a treat, with David Bradley playing the black market trader to perfection.

The highlight of the episode comes in the final act, with Smith's Doctor conjuring a plan while working against the clock to save the dinosaurs, himself and his bevy of companions and friends. The one weakness of the episode is the insane number of characters present, with the addition of far too many newbies meaning none of the characters are fully fleshed out.

With all the suave and sophistication of any Aussie half way through a slab, Luke will critique every minute detail of films and shows from all eras- unless it's 1990's Simpsons episodes, because they're just perfect
