sparkfun.com that will give you an auditory experience of hitching along in the old blue box. WORD OF WARNING: the article is incredibly technical, well beyond my (non)expertise. Still, I didn't want my lack of Kung Foo to keep anyone with such skills from enjoying this excellent prank. Also, in the age of paranoia we live in, should you attempt this, be well prepared to have the proverbial "ton of bricks" come down on your head. Nothing says terrorist like a conspicuous electronic device left in a public place. That said, Mike Grusin's plans are for a great little doohickey (the technical Latin term: accelerometer) that you can place on an elevator which, when activated by the elevator moving up or down, will flash a light and produce the sound of the TARDIS taking off/landing.
