Doctor Who: Every 11th Doctor Episode Ranked Worse To Best

22. Victory Of The Daleks

Doctor Who Matt Smith
BBC Studios

There is a lot of hate for this episode but most of this is aimed at the multicoloured redesign of the Daleks. This outrage is natural considering the dramatic change from their previous sleek golden design to creatures that seem to now represent every colour of the rainbow.

It’s a shame that this breed of Daleks were dismissed after fan backlash as there are plenty of things to admire. You have the deep, gravelly voice, the looming size of them which dwarfed their previous incarnation and the sheer audacity of trying something so different. Having said this, admittedly their weird hunchback did look stupid.

But aside from the controversial Dalek redesign, we get a great use of Churchill as a previous friend of the Doctor who wants to win the war at any cost, some great dialogue and a jammy dodger that saves the day.
