Doctor Who: Every 11th Doctor Episode Ranked Worse To Best

33. Dinosaurs On A Spaceship

Doctor Who Matt Smith
BBC

For an episode called Dinosaurs on a Spaceship, we don't actually get a lot of dinosaurs. Or spaceship. Instead the episode seems more concerned with pushing the Doctor to one of the darkest places he's ever been.

While there is a friendly Triceratops here and a scary baby T-Rex there, this is the episode where the Doctor lets a man die. For such a seemingly fun episode the ending is incredibly bleak as the Doctor allows Solomon, a lawless black market trader, to be targeted by missiles which destroy him and his ship.

However, the CGI dinosaurs, the brief Mitchell and Webb cameo and the introduction of Rory's dad manage to save the episode. At the end of the day this episode would be any 10-year-old's dream come true: the Doctor goes on an adventure with dinosaurs. It's just a shame it was a shadow of what it could have been though.
