Doctor Who: Every 11th Doctor Episode Ranked Worse To Best

32. Night Terrors

Doctor Who Matt Smith
BBC

A good child actor can be the difference between great drama and poor drama, look at the success of Stranger Things. However, Night Terrors features an extremely unconvincing child at the centre of it which detracts from any of the tension built up previously.

While this may seem unfair to literally pick on a child, his inability to look scared pales in comparison to the great performance of Daniel Mays who plays his concerned father. While there are some good ideas, Amy and Rory discovering they are in a doll's house complete with plastic ornaments and the paper mache-faced dolls, it never reaches the terrors of Blink.

Of the three episodes regular writer Mark Gatiss wrote for the 11th Doctor this is easily his weakest.
