Doctor Who: Every NuWho Companion Ranked From Worst To Best

3. Amy Pond

Doctor Who Sarah Jane
BBC

Amelia Pond was one of The Doctor's longest serving companions, as it was over twenty years of her between their first meeting and their last. From little Amelia, waiting in the garden to Amy in the graveyard, staring down the Weeping Angel, this Pond had an enormous effect on The Eleventh Doctor.

Despite suffering the loss of Rory (for a short-time....twice), she remained fiercely loyal to The Doctor. He may not have always given her the full story when it came to what was happening around them, but there was more than enough trust there for her to run when he would cry 'Come Along, Pond!'

With Amy, The Doctor became part of the family (literally) in a way that hadn't been seen since the revival. Not only did he marry her daughter, but he also attended her wedding (a more successful first time around than Donna Noble's, for example) and, thanks to closing the crack, brought her parents back into existence.

While her departure was crushing for The Doctor, he would see her one last time, helping him regenerate when his time had come.
