One of the deadliest warrior races in the galaxy, but are really nothing more than flat-track bullies who pick on anyone less technologically-advanced, and therefore weaker than them. No wonder they remained undefeated for so long.
The Mire go around raiding settlements for the strongest and fittest warriors, then beam them up to their spaceship to be liquified as a drink filled with adrenaline and testosterone - everything a murderous Mire needs.
Behind the "Odin" guise and under the helmets, they're one of the nastiest-looking aliens we've seen, with faces that are full of protruding sharp teeth that would look right at home in the insect pit of Skull Island.
