Doctor Who: EVERY Steven Moffat Episode Ranked Worst To Best
32. Extremis

We've all had a moment of wondering whether we're living in a simulation (hopefully it's not just me) and Steven Moffat taps into that idea in a clever way in this first instalment of the Monk trilogy.
The design of the Monk creatures is absolutely horrific and gives some great fuel to my belief that Doctor Who can, and should, be dark and scary. It's an intriguing and gripping story with its unexpected twist and dark examination of the nature of existence. This is exactly the type of Doctor Who I want to see more of!
The Missy subplot doesn't always click neatly with the main part of the story, but it's always great to see Michelle Gomez, so no complaints really.
