Doctor Who: EVERY Steven Moffat Episode Ranked Worst To Best
5. World Enough And Time/The Doctor Falls

World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls has all the requirements for the perfect Doctor Who story – high stakes, tension, mystery, surprises, sacrifice, and a healthy dash of humour.
The return of John Simm (despite it being the worst-kept secret ever) and the team-up of the Saxon Master and Missy is such a treat. The pair bounce off each other so well, and are a joy to watch as they taunt the Doctor and belittle his efforts to stop the Cybermen.
Elsewhere, Moffat and Capaldi are on top speech-y form yet again with another cracker of a monologue for Twelve, about saving lives being an act of kindness rather than being about winning or victory. Moffat encapsulates what the Doctor is all about in just a few taps of the keyboard, and it's delivered so well that even Murray Gold turns the music right down!
It's the greatest finale Moffat ever wrote – no easy feat considering the competition.
