Doctor Who: EVERY Steven Moffat Episode Ranked Worst To Best
4. A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol is, by far, Steven Moffat's greatest Christmas special. Perhaps even the greatest Christmas special in the history of the show.
From the smart Doctor Who twist on the classic Charles Dickens story, to the phenomenal performance by Sir Michael Gambon, to Katherine Jenkins' beautiful singing voice, it's so Christmassy and lovely and clever from start to finish, and there's a real sense that you're watching something special.
As Russell T Davies recently observed, it's also an excellent piece of drama, exemplified by the moment where a young Kazran has a vision of his own future... quite literally.
Magical, emotional, and absolutely covered in snow – Moffat at Christmas doesn't get better than this.
