Doctor Who: Every Tenth Doctor Episode Ranked From Worst To Best

25. Planet Of The Ood

Doctor Who The End of Time
BBC Studios

With overt references to slavery and the ethical treatment of livestock, Planet of the Ood's messaging isn't exactly subtle. However, it nonetheless leaves you with a lot of food for thought.

Even though they look quite horrifying, the emotional impact of this story is so great that it almost allows the same sympathy towards the Ood as you felt for the thousands who died in the previous episode, The Fires of Pompeii.

Seriously, that moment where the Doctor lets Donna hear the Ood song is heartbreaking.

While there are a few moments that don't quite hit the mark - like that random claw chase sequence - Planet of the Ood is solid overall. We also get to witness a man transform into an Ood, which is an absolutely disgusting treat.
