3. The Zygon Invasion Has Already Happened: The Zygon Invasion
The cliff-hanger UNIT discovers the Zygon's have already infiltrated London and are wiped out. Clara is revealed to be a Zygon and blows up the plane with the Doctor and Osgood on it. Does it work? The genius of the end of the Zygon Invasion is that the conflict UNIT have fought so long to prevent has already happened. Zygons have infiltrated London, replacing thousands of people with Zygon counterparts. Poor Jac discovers the truth too late and is slaughtered with the rest of her UNIT troops while Kate is replaced too. And Clara, revealed to be a Zygon all this time takes a rocket launcher and blows up the Doctor's plane. It is a thrilling cliff-hanger and you wonder just how it could be resolved. It murders another great supporting UNIT character and twists the story in an intriguing new direction. Overall Rating 9/10. A thrilling cliff-hanger that turns the entire story on its head and leaves the fate of every character at stake. That's how you leave audiences desperate for next week.
