Doctor Who: Ranking The Doctor's Sonic Screwdrivers Worst To Best

8. The Twelfth Doctor's Second Sonic Screwdriver

Doctor Who Eleventh Doctor Sonic Screwdriver

Gifted to him by the TARDIS at the end of 2015's Hell Bent, this flashy model is fitting of the Time Lord who went by the name of 'Doctor Disco'.

With modulating lights, various coloured modes and enhanced sonic ability, this was one of the most visually striking screwdrivers. It was also good to see an actual sonic screwdriver return after the Twelfth Doctor had been using both his sonic sunglasses and the previous model shared with his predecessor.

Returning to primarily scanning and opening and closing doors, this screwdriver also had a marker pen concealed at the opposite end from the emitter for assistance whilst lecturing. It was powerful enough to create a forcefield with the help of Missy's Sonic Umbrella, and accurate enough to detonate explosions that could destroy Cybermen.

The model was unfortunately lost when the newly-regenerated Thirteenth Doctor fell to Earth, and its whereabouts - along with the sonic sunglasses - are currently unknown.

Probably just as well for the sunglasses.

Sound Advice: The sonic's quite bright, but no need to put the sunglasses back on.
