Doctor Who Review: Death In Heaven - 10 Ways To Wrap Up A Series
2. A Little Help From Our Friends
UNIT was a bit wasted in this episode though the death of Osgood was a pivotal scene both shocking and sad. Those few seconds firmly cemented Missys place as a monster. Kate Stewart was given little to do but her fall from the plane did set up a lovely moment between the Doctor and a cyberized Brigadier. Lethbridge-Stewart manages to save both his daughter and the Doctor, earning a heartfelt salute in the process. The power of friendship is another enduring theme of series eight. Clara starts out as an assistant but in the end is acknowledged by the Doctor as a friend. The loss of a close friend is devastating as evidenced by the Doctors obvious grief over the actions of the Master.
