Doctor Who Review: Death In Heaven - 10 Ways To Wrap Up A Series

1. The Never-Ending Story

€œDeath in Heaven€ was filled with action yet it was the quiet moments that shone through the frantic pacing. After the brilliance of €œDark Water€, this episode felt over the top as if they were trying too hard to raise the stakes. The scene in the plane was Doctor Who absurdity at its best though, with a snarky Doctor and lunatic Master mixed with flying cybermen and the pathos of Osgood€™s loss. What happens now? The Doctor and Clara are so desperate to make it better for the other that once again they are not communicating. That will most likely be cleared up in the Christmas special but how long will Clara continue to travel with the Doctor? She€™s been the companion for a series and a half at this point and is unlikely to remain much longer. Series eight was a fantastic roller coaster ride that rattled low at times then soared to breathtaking heights. Peter Capaldi remains a significant asset to the franchise and one hopes to see him continue for a nice long time.
