Doctor Who Review: The Caretaker – 10 Clues To What The Doctor Is Doing

2. The Teacher And The Student

Caretaker02 Is the Doctor asking too much of his companions? He often acts as if he is desperate to keep them but he never can. They will always leave him one way or another. Is the handwriting on the wall for the Doctor and Clara? Does he sense her pulling away? He and Danny are both possessive over Clara but she is not a thing to be owned. Clara is spending a lot of time and effort trying to please the two men in her life. Maybe she needs to think about what she wants for herself. While series seven was a path to redemption, series eight is a journey of evolution. The Doctor isn€™t the man he thought he was and he isn€™t sure what to do with that knowledge. He is the teacher in this incarnation because he is educating himself. He is seeking to be someone he thought he could never be. He is learning to take care.
