Doctor Who Review: The Husbands Of River Song – 5 Reasons To Love This Christmas Gift

1. Oh What A Night

Doctor Who in general and Steven Moffat in particular have a special talent for distracting you with comedy before blindsiding you with angst. River Song€™s bittersweet ending however is entirely earned and while it is sad it is far from hopeless. This is the story that River deserved, one that showcases her wild joie de vivre while honoring her vulnerability. It€™s also a great way to transition Capaldi€™s Doctor from cool intellectual to romantic hero. One of the best things about Capaldi€™s tenure is that he is allowed to grow as a character. What will happen in series ten? There are rumors that it may be the last series for both Peter Capaldi and Steven Moffat. It is certain we will see a new companion and we€™ve been told to expect new writing talent. Series nine was dark and brilliant and filled with mostly strong episodes that gave us compelling new characters and riveting stories. If series ten retains this level of quality we have a glowing future to look forward to.
