Doctor Who Review: The Zygon Invasion – 7 Reasons Why This Is The Perfect Setup
5. Truth Or Consequences
One of the reasons reviews for the first part of a two-parter are so difficult to write is that there is no way of knowing whether a perceived plot hole in the first part will be resolved in the second. Its ridiculous for UNIT to send Kate Stewart into Truth or Consequences alone but is that what happened? Or is this part of a more elaborate plan to outsmart the Zygons? Gretchen Egolf as Norlander the police woman is fantastic as the representation of the prevailing attitude of certain factions who fear refugees simply because they do not look, sound or act like themselves. Her devastating description of a child Zygon who had yet to learn how to keep her human shape and was attacked when she let her disguise slip was a pointed indictment at the way many people are treated when they are trying to learn how live within an unfamiliar culture.
