Doctor Who Season 7 Gets Dinosaurs and Cyborg Cowboys

The second episode of the new series will be called Dinosaurs on a Spaceship!

As expected, more information about the upcoming series of Doctor Who has begun to emerge, and what better time than at this past weekend's Comic-Con. First, and possibly most intriguing, is that the second episode of the series will be called Dinosaurs on a Spaceship. Yes, that title does combine the two polar opposites achievable in time travel and following on in the tradition of Snakes on a Plane and Horsemen on A Train, it seems a perfectly reasonable evolution as far as titles go. So what do we know about the episode? It guest stars The Fast Show€™s Mark Williams and Sherlock€™s Rupert Graves and will see the biggest set ever created for a Doctor Who episode to house the prehistoric beasts the Doctor will find himself pitted against. Steven Moffat commented, €œDinosaurs on a Spaceship - what more do you need! The Doctor will come face to face with some of the most monstrous creatures evolution has ever produced, on some of the most monstrous sets we've ever built. We took one look at Chris Chibnall's brilliant script and said to ourselves "We're going to need a bigger corridor"€ In addition, episode three will be called A Tow Called Mercy, and will feature the cyborg cowboys we have been seeing images of since production began on the series. On that Moffat said, €œToby Whithouse's A Town Called Mercy takes us into a genre Doctor Who hasn't attempted since the sixties - it's a full blooded western. We knew from the start we need some serious location shooting for this one, and given the most iconic American setting imaginable, there was only one place to go - Spain." With only weeks to wait, the anticipation of the new series is almost as high as it can be, but there is still time to push that a bit higher still.
