Doctor Who Seasons 1-12 Ranked Worst To Best

10. Season Two

Doctor Who David Tennant Tenth Doctor
BBC Studios

Season two was amazing at the time. It pushed things further than the first and we found more adventure and heartbreak than ever before. While season one had done a lot of set up in terms of world and character building, season two was able to run with it and explore it all even further.

Featuring David Tennant's first run as the Doctor, we followed his adventures with Rose Tyler and there was a lot to love. It was the return of the Cybermen, who hadn't been seen in the new series so far, that was particularly exciting.

Seeing the Cybermen and the Daleks go head to head for Doomsday was a stunning surprise that nobody saw coming. The battle at Canary Wharf and the scene at Bad Wolf Bay were some of the most epic scenes we'd ever seen on TV.

Throughout the series there were some real highs like The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit, The Girl in the Fireplace and School Reunion which brought back classic companion, Sarah Jane Smith. Despite these great episodes, there were a handful of awful ones too, which is why it's knocked right down the list.

Simon is a writer, cat dad and presenter of a geeky radio show with his husband. He loves Doctor Who (except 10 who can get in the bin…only joking.) He idolises Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Lara Croft and would 100% be a Sith Lord in a galaxy far, far away. He wishes life was like a musical so he’d actually be a good singer.
