11. Family Photos
Everyone has photos of their family on their desk at work and the Doctor is no different.
In The Pilot, we see that the Doctor has a couple of framed photographs in his university rooms. One is of River Song, his dearly departed wife, and the other is Susan Foreman. As we already explained, Susan was the Doctor's granddaughter and original travelling companion.
The Doctor briefly alludes to Susan as if she is dead. This is news to us, though, as the character was alive and well when he last saw her in 1983's The Five Doctors. Maybe she died during the Time War?
