Doctor Who Series 10: Everything You Need To Know

9. A Line-Up Of Writers Old And New

Though Steven Moffat has once again penned the opening episode and the two-part finale, as well as one loose episode in the middle, he’s brought on a very interesting line-up of writers.

Take a deep breath before reading this out loud – Frank Cottrell Boyce, Sarah Dollard, Mike Bartlett, Jamie Mathieson, Peter Harness, Toby Whithouse, Mark Gatiss, and Rona Munro (and relax...) have written an episode each.

Most of these have contributed to Doctor Who before, and there are some great names in the line-up, as Dollard, Mathieson and Harness have written some of the best episodes of the Peter Capaldi era so far. The addition of Rona Munro is intriguing, as she has written for Doctor Who once before – way back in 1989, penning the Seventh Doctor’s final story Survival.

The only writer entirely new to Who is Mike Bartlett, a playwright and screenwriter who has solid TV experience as the creator of BBC One’s acclaimed Doctor Foster, so I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with Doctor Who.
