Doctor Who Series 11 Finale: 3 Ups & 3 Downs From 'The Battle Of Ranskoor Av Kolos'

Ups

3. It Was A Passable Chibnall Episode

Doctor Who Series 11 Finale
BBC

As has already been said, Chibnall's track record with Doctor Who - be it from this series or from times he contributed screenplays before he took over - hasn't always been plain sailing and quality across the board. The travesty that was The Tsuranga Conundrum and the questionable overall quality of The Ghost Monument and Arachnids In The UK put a lot of strain on this finale, as expectations were adequately low.

However, the episode itself was passable. The concept of Tim Shaw stealing planets, then moving his attention to Earth as an act of revenge against the Doctor were blissfully dark, and nothing introduced felt inherently pointless in the grand scheme of things. As a finale, however, it's definitely not the strongest. Stakes were high, but you could've seen this episode appear at any point during the series.

Also the go-to for Doctor Who, and could tell you why Sans Serif fonts are better than most. Still occasionally tap dances under the desk.
