Doctor Who Series 12: 3 Ups & 3 Downs From The Timeless Children
Ups!
3. Sacha Dhawan's Unhinged Master
Once again, Sacha Dhawan's portrayal of The Master stole each and every scene he was in. Not only did his unsettling energy lift every word he spoke, we had an incredible moment in which he acted before he thought. After miniaturising the Lone Cyberman, he realised he could have activated the Death Particle in the process, killing every organic life form, including himself, on Gallifrey.
Though this wasn't part of his plan, and he would've obviously perished along with everything else, he almost seemed disappointed that it didn't happen. Take John Simm's Master, keep the insanity, but remove the copious amount of thinking he usually does before unleashing a plan. That is The Master we have here. In addition, the knowledge that part of The Doctor's genetic code (since she's the Timeless Child after all) is inside him, drives him borderline insane, despising the idea that his greatest enemy was, in fact, part of his biology. He is truly the master of the unhinged Master, and as much as I don't want the ending to somehow be undone, I hope we haven't seen the last of Sacha Dhawan.
