Doctor Who Series 12: 3 Ups & 3 Downs From The Timeless Children

2. Many Outstanding Questions Were Answered

After 'Ascension of the Cybermen', Doctor Who viewers had a lot on their plate. Who was Brendan? Just who is the Timeless Child? Why were the Cybermen headed to Gallifrey? How did the Fugitive Doctor fit into all of this? Thankfully, all of these questions were (somewhat) answered during 'The Timeless Children.'

Brendan was a cover story in the Gallifreyan Matrix for what actually happened with the origin and exploitation of Timeless Child, who turned out to be the distant past of The Doctor herself. The Cybermen were headed for Gallifrey because The Master had invited them, and the Fugitive Doctor was indeed from The Doctor's past, but was encrypted after the Doctor's mind was wiped, and she started from what she thought was her first body (William Hartnell).

True, it's not like absolutely everything has been covered here, and we still have an encyclopedia-worth of questions going into 'Revolution of the Daleks' and into series 13, but for the 65 minutes Chris Chibnall had to play with, he didn't do a half-bad job with keeping us in the loop.
