A lot has been said about Love & Monsters over the years, and very little of it has been good.
This Doctor-lite adventure centres on a group of regular folk attempting to track the Time Lord down, which pulls them into the path of a hideous alien that absorbs people into its skin. But more on him later.
The main character of this bizarre adventure is Elton Pope, a lovely chap played by Marc Warren.
Warren has had a steady career since narrowly avoiding the Abzorbaloff's buttcheeks. His most notable post-Who role came in the 2017 TV series Snatch, based on the classic Guy Ritchie film of the same name. Warren played corrupt policeman Bob Fink in the first season, earning himself a Best Breakthrough Performance nomination at the National Film Awards for his troubles.
He can currently be seen in the Channel 4 sitcom Big Boys, alongside none other than Camille Coduri! Turns out Jackie and Elton ended up together after all.
