Doctor Who Series 7: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

2. Self-Contained Episodes

Ok, everyone loves a good two-parter with that cliff-hanger pause to make a week last a lifetime. Remember the agony of David Tennant€™s Doctor regenerating as credits rolled on The Stolen Earth in series four? Or Matt Smith€™s Doctor being locked in the Pandorica in the penultimate episode of series five? However, we already know that there will be no such two-part episodes in the new series which will be something of a refreshing change from the numerous double-headers that have been coming thick and fast since the 2005 revamp of the series. According to Steven Moffat himself that means tighter plotting, more action packed episodes and a less intricate story arc for casual viewers to follow. It might not be everyone€™s cup of tea, but it will be interesting to see how it pans out by the time the series ends in 2013.
