Doctor Who Series 7: 5 Things We Want From The Last Cyberman

5. Not A Massive Let-Down

There's that 'crucifixion' chant again... Hear me out on this one. While I really don't think this is a massive thing to be worried about, I think it's best that I address the elephant in the room. Neil Gaiman, awesome, magnificent, ingenius Neil Gaiman, has built himself a pretty high pedestal with what is being considered one of the best entries into the Whoniverse since its revival. Now he's writing something inspired from his childhood. Now let me repeat this - he wrote a classic that everybody loves, and now he's writing something a lot more personal with complete free reign. Does any of this sound familiar? (Why, oh why, did I use up my one free George Lucas joke in my last article?) While I'm in no way comparing 'The Last Cyberman' to a Star Wars prequel, and while you could argue that he's never written anything bad yet, there's a first time for everything, and there's definitely a lot of hype to live up to. Some may say too much... I'm well aware that I'm ending this list on a seriously pessimistic note and I'm more than prepared to take all the uproar in the comments section, but I think its important to remain realistic. But... Realistically, if you look at absolutely everything else on the list, everything else we not only want to see but are almost certainly going to, the genius and effort that went into its creation and the intensely personal inspirations spawning from one of the most notable of DW's many golden ages, nothing can possibly go wrong, can it? Is it physically possible for something so perfectly set up to fail? Is Neil Gaiman capable of disappointing anyone at all? You tell me. Is it destined to become a classic, or should we be bracing ourselves for another Whovian heartbreak? Let me know in the comments, and I'd be interested to hear some of the things YOU want from the coming episode, or just the second half of Series Seven in general. Peace!

I got bored one day, so I decided to write things on the Internet.
