Doctor Who: The Halloween Apocalypse Review - 7 Ups & 5 Downs

3. DOWN - Audio Mixing

It’s rare that we complain about a technical aspect of an episode like this. In general, programmes airing on prime-time British television tend to be above this kind of mistake, which begs the question: what on Earth happened with the audio mixing this week?

How this made it into television in its current state we don’t know. At multiple points during this episode, the overbearing music and SFX completely drowned out lines of dialogue - chiefly in the opening and closing sequences, and in Vinder’s evacuation scene. We found ourselves rewinding to catch certain lines that were all but lost in the mix. Rookie error, here.

Sort it out, guys.
