7. 9 Sends Rose Home Parting Of The Ways
When he realises that all hope is lost, the Delta Wave isnt going to work fast enough and hes going to lose Rose the Doctor lies. He tells Rose that shes a genius, babbles something about timelines and asks her to hold down some buttons in the TARDIS, then he rushes back out to power up the Game Station. Were all thinking that theres some great solution. Until he pauses and turns. Facing the TARDIS with a sombre look on his face, he presses his sonic screwdriver and sends the TARDIS away, with Rose still waiting inside. She sees the console moving and rushes to the door, knowing what he is doing, begging to be let out. He can hear her pleas but doesnt stop, staring on as Rose and the TARDIS disappear forever. Then Emergency Programme One starts; a virtual Doctor appearing behind Rose as she rattles the door, desperate to be released. The virtual Doctor brings a serious message in an almost monotone voice. His face is almost stony as he tells her how he has brought her home to protect her from the fatal danger that he has found himself in. Rose at first protests but then she stands to listen to the last words that the Doctor will ever say to her. He asks her to do one thing for him, in order to remember him. His voice and face soften as he says his next piece, his virtual head turning to face hers, knowing exactly where she is standing, and he has the glint of tears in his eyes. He asks her to have a fantastic life before fading and leaving her staring at the wall of the TARDIS. She starts to fight the TARDIS, begging it to take her back but cannot make it work. She stops and breaks down in tears like everyone who is watching.
