Here's one for the Doctor Who fans who have been keeping up with the latest Capaldi episodes, which should be all of them. If you haven't been, though, here's a round up of what you've been missing. Clara's beloved beau Danny Pink (great name!) has died in a car accident and suffered alone in Missy's afterlife sphere, ultimately being upgraded into a Cyberman and begging for an emotionless death. Conveniently, in a graveyard, of all places. Pretty heavy stuff, right? Thank God Doctor Who's on later these days. But that's not enough for the Doctor Who writers. Just when fans thought there was a glimmer of that Doctor Who hope for which the Russell T Davies era was acclaimed, Danny then decided to be honourable and send back the young boy he killed during his time as a soldier in his place, thus repenting his own sins but trapping himself forevermore in the process. Well great. Of course, Clara being Clara, the impossible girl put on a brave face and realised that her life - and subsequently the Doctor's - would be much easier if she lied to him about having found her happily ever after. At the same time, the Doctor, being the Doctor, pulled on his snazziest jumper yet (are they holes or sparkles?) and convinced Clara that he'd be just fine without her because he's only gone and found Gallifrey once and for all thanks to Missy's coordinates. It's made apparent in a heartbreaking flashback scene, though, that the coordinates were actually wrong, and as such the viewers are the only ones who see Clara's true grief and the Doctor's underlying frustration as they reach out for a final hug. The hearts of fans around the world were breaking, and their sonic screwdrivers drooping, as they finally discovered why the Doctor hates being hugged so much. "Never trust a hug," he said, his angry owl eyes quite possible watering. "It's just a way to hide your face." And as fans wiped away their own tears with their officially licensed replica stripy scarves, they only wished they had a Doctor to hide their puffy faces behind, too.
