Doctor Who: Village Of The Angels Review - 8 Ups & 4 Downs

2. UP - A Nice Twist

Doctor Who Flux Village of the Angels
BBC

Early in the episode, we’re introduced Mrs Hayward, who warns the townsfolk about the terrible danger of The Weeping Angels, and we are later introduced to Peggy, a ten year old girl who is zapped back in time by the Angels.

At the end of the episode, we’re given the twist reveal that these two people are one and the same, and that poor Peggy is left isolated in the past to live out her days. Some viewers may have seen this coming (your scribe concedes, he might have missed this one…), but it’s still a tragic reveal nonetheless. The revelation that the Angels left her as the sole survivor just because they’re cruel and wanted her to suffer also serves to remind us that this lot are a true force of evil (in the unlikely event that we forgot what big old quantum a***holes the Angels were)…
