Doctor Who: Village Of The Angels Review - 8 Ups & 4 Downs
1. UP - The Cliffhanger
Wow. We’re going to say it - that was the best cliffhanger that we’ve seen since World Enough And Time - a truly iconic scene that will be remembered for some time.
This week, we were treated to something that almost never happens in Doctor Who: The Doctor lost, and lost badly. The town wasn’t saved, her companions were trapped in the past, and The Doctor herself was captured by the Angels and recalled to The Division.
It doesn’t stop there either, as The Doctor began to turn to stone, becoming a Weeping Angel. The visual of her, encased in stone, with her hands over her eyes, was in equal parts shocking and bloody awesome, and we simply cannot wait to see what happens next. To top it off, we were treated to a mid-credits scene with Vinder and a spooky alternate rendition of the theme.
Bring on next week. We’ve got Ood, Karvanista, and, perhaps most unexpectedly, the left-field return of Kate Stewart! Big up the Moff era, finally getting some love this time around.
