Doctor Who: War Of The Sontarans Review - 7 Ups & 5 Downs
1. UP - Karvanista (Again)
I’ve only had Karvanista for two episodes but if anything happened to him I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.
Yes, Karvanista made a reappearance in the climax of this episode to save the B-plot after watching Dan struggle his way through it. Turning up in the nick of time to save Dan from a firing squad and destroy the Sontaran battle fleet with ease, and doing so with his trademark reluctance, Karvanista was the saving grace of an otherwise very poor run of scenes.
We also enjoyed Karvanista letting go of his grumpy demeanour for a moment to acknowledge Dan’s subtle thank you at the end of the episode. It seems like to two are starting to gain some mutual respect for each other, and we can feel a bromance blossoming - hopefully one day soon Dan can repay his loyal pooch by bailing him out for once. Karvanista must be protected. If he dies, we riot. Karvanista for full-time companion, please.
