Emmys 2016: 9 Ups & 3 Downs

4. Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Tribute To Her Late Father

Julia Louis-Dreyfus' gave a characteristically classy acceptance speech for her fifth consecutive Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy win for her work on Veep.

After getting the usual cast and crew thank-yous and landing some fun jokes (including apologising for the current political climate), she dedicated her Emmy to her father, GĂ©rard Louis-Dreyfus, who passed away just two days before the Emmy ceremony.

Louis-Dreyfus closed by saying, "I'm so glad he liked Veep, because his opinion was the one that really mattered."

There wasn't a dry eye in the house when she emotionally paid tribute to her late father, and it was tough not to admire her strength to appear on a TV so soon after he passed away.
