Emmys 2016: 9 Ups & 3 Downs
8. Master Of None Actually Wins Something
Aziz Ansari's incredible new comedy Master of None was nominated for four Emmys...and actually won the Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series award.
Nobody was realistically expecting the show to do much awards-wise when facing off against juggernauts like Veep and Transparent, but it was extra exciting that the show's terrific writing was rewarded.
In another great moment, Ansari took to the stage with his co-writer Alan Yang, at which point Yang implored Asian-American parents to give their children cameras rather than violins so that they can finally escape the legacy of Sixteen Candles' Long Duk Dong.
