Emmys 2017 Nominations: 15 Major Shocks & Snubs

7. Snub: Evan Peters (Actor In A Limited Series – American Horror Story: Cult)

Twin Peaks Emmys
FX

Evan Peters has portrayed antagonist after antagonist on American Horror Story, but it was his work as Kai Anderson - the villainous political leader - in the latest season of the show that earned him critical acclaim. If Cult was going to earn any Primetime Emmy nominations, then surely it would be Peters' work on the show that would be recognised. To the surprise of many, this was not the case.

The Leading Actor In A Limited Series category is packed to the brim with wonderful performances (most notably Darren Criss' work on American Crime Story), but that doesn't excuse Peters' omission, as he delivers one of his greatest AHS performances to date. What's more, it could be argued that he's more worthy of a spot in the list than John Legend (Jesus Christ Superstar).

Peters is currently starring on FX's Pose, and will be starring in the upcoming eighth season of American Horror Story, which will be a crossover between the Murder House and Coven seasons of the show. Perhaps he might get that nomination next year.
