Emmys 2017 Nominations: 15 Major Shocks & Snubs

8. Shock: The Walking Dead: Red Machete (Short Form Comedy/Drama Series)

Twin Peaks Emmys
AMC

Yes, you read that correctly. The Walking Dead: Red Machete has received an Emmy nomination.

For years, fans have petitioned the Academy to recognise The Walking Dead. The colossal AMC drama has become one of the world's biggest television series, and amassed quite the fanbase, but it has never received an Emmy nomination.

Although the writing has been questionable over the years, there's no denying that the hard work of the cast should be recognised - especially the likes of Andrew Lincoln, Melissa McBride and Scott Wilson. And yet, year after year, the post-apocalyptic series is overlooked. Furthermore, spin-off series Fear The Walking Dead has been snubbed also, in spite of its compelling storylines.

But the Academy has decided to dish out a nomination to the web series Red Machete. Because that makes total sense.
