Emmys 2018: Who Should Win Every Award (And Who Actually Will)

7. Limited Series

Patrick Melrose Benedict Cumberbath
Showtime

Nominees: The Alienist; The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story; Genius: Picasso; Godless; Patrick Melrose

Should Win: The Assassination of Gianni Versace

Really, it should be Twin Peaks, but with that somehow not nominated here, Versace is the next best. It's not as good as The People v O.J. Simpson, but Murphy and co's story-in-reverse creates a unique, flashy, and powerful story of not only a serial killer, but wealth, race, and homophobia in America.

Will Win: The Assassination of Gianni Versace

This is a relatively weak year for what's become a hot category in recent years - in no small part thanks to a slew of Ryan Murphy shows - and Versace is the most high-profile of the bunch, one with lots of love elsewhere, and also the best of those nominated.
