Emmys 2018: Who Should Win Every Award (And Who Actually Will)

6. Lead Actor In A Comedy Series

Barry Bill Hader
HBO

Nominees: Anthony Anderson, Black-ish; Ted Danson, The Good Place; Larry David, Curb Your Enthusiasm; Donald Glover, Atlanta; Bill Hader, Barry; William H. Macy, Shameless

Should Win: Bill Hader

Glover is great, and no one here is funnier week in, week out than Ted Danson, but Hader just does it all on Barry: he carries the show as its lead, uses his SNL-honed, off-kilter comic gifts to wonderful effect, but also mines some great dramatic depths too in a performance full of wit and poignancy.

Will Win: Donald Glover

He's the reigning champ, one of the buzziest stars in the world right now and, to top it all off, gives an excellent performance in Atlanta, especially in his submitted episode Teddy Perkins, where his white-faced turn is unforgettably haunting.
