Black Mirror's second episode goes in hard when dissecting the vicious and self-destructive nature of reality TV. Fifteen Million Merits stars Daniel Kaluuya as Bing, a man who lives in a dystopian future, forced to pedal stationary bikes in exchange for "merits," a form of currency that buys basic necessities and virtual entertainment.

After trying to save fellow biker Abi (Jessica Brown Findlay) from their dire existence, both their lives begin to implode, leading to Bing's final stand against his masters.

A simple plot driven forward by committed performances from Kaluuya and Findlay, palpable tension and a riveting finale, Fifteen Million Merits cemented Black Mirror as the next big thing (following its masterful but controversial premiere), and still holds court today as one of its most timely and subtly disturbing episodes.
