Every Doctor Who Series Opener - Ranked Worst To Best

5. Smith And Jones

A platoon of Judoon on the Moon? What's not to like?

Series 3 gets off to a great start, with space rhino police, a hospital on the moon and two discount Stigs, a reminder of how popular Who and Top Gear were back in 2007. Although Smith And Jones isn't perhaps the most memorable of series openers, it definitely stands the test of time and is hugely enjoyable on the re-watch.

The Judoon have developed into fan favorites over the years, so much so that they were bought back for Series 12. Replacing Rose Tyler was never going to be easy, but Freema Agyeman does a fine job as Martha Jones, and her dynamic with Tennant is fun, aside from when they kissed and he keeps mentioning Rose.

Overall this is is the best Tennant opener but it's not enough to crack the top four...
