Every HBO Comedy Ranked From Worst To Best
45. Entourage
Had Entourage capped at three seasons, it would likely be a lot higher on this list. The first three installments of the show offered a punchy if immature look at modern Hollywood through up and coming actor Vincent Chase and his gang of hangers-on. It was funny, glossy, fast paced.
Then it went on for another five years, and absolutely nothing changed or progressed in any measurable way. Every season sees Vince hoping to nab a part in a dream movie project. Somehow he messes it up. Then everything works itself out. Lather rinse repeat.
By season seven, they gave Vince a drug problem to spice things up a bit, but he kicked this with ease and went back to being rich and successful. No conflict, no plot development - no real plot.
Add to this some of the most loathsome characters in telly history (namely manager Eric Murphy) and an immensely regressive view of women (who might as well be an alien race in the lad-centric Entourage universe) and you’ve got an absolute mess. The first three seasons are genuinely worth watching; the rest will make you despair.
