31. House Of Saddam (2008)
Biopics about infamous historical figures are nothing new, but with House of Saddam HBO at least tried to mix up the formula by telling the rise and fall of Saddam Hussein as if he wasn't just a genocidal dictator, but a gangster and criminal mastermind. It's a clever spin, anchored by Yigal Naor's remarkable central performance.
There is, however, a sense of underdevelopment that taints many biopics, in that House of Saddam doesn't look deeply enough at its subject or really dig into the true extent of his complex image and personality.
